Meet Our Bobbi Sheepskin Footstool
At Baa Stool we’re always thinking about legs. Long or short, chunky or slender, curvy or straight, wooden or metal. Furniture legs of course! A Baa Stool has been designed to be a sustainable piece of furniture. One of its features is that you can change the legs on the stool very easily so it can be adapted to suit your changing styles. Here’s a peek into the development of our Bobbi Bobbin furniture legs and Bobbi Sheepskin Footstool.
The Concept
When I first started to develop the Baa Stool concept I approached a local cabinet maker to help me design the furniture legs. I knew I wanted them to have little hooves and had no idea how to make that happen. ‌David and his pal Tom at Pawswood Joinery in Denbigh were so kind and patient with me and my complete lack of experience in the furniture design field. Together we came up with some great ideas and they produced our legs and frames until we grew too big for them to service when they happily waived us off to a larger outfit.
Celebrating 10 Years
So when I decided to create a stool to celebrate Baa Stool’s 10th Birthday I went back to see the chaps at Pawswood once again with nothing but an idea… but a little more experience this time! I asked for graduated bobbin furniture legs – and Tom carved 4 by hand out of locally felled wood. No lathe. They are immaculate. Our supplier used them as a template for our Bobbi legs and I feel like we’ve come full circle. Thank you David and Tom for all your help and support over the years. If you’re a lover of the bobbin leg then you may find this article by Melanie Jade Design interesting;  ‘What is Bobbin Furniture?’

A whole new range
The Bobbi legs are currently available on our footstools and will soon be rolled out across our whole range of stools and benches. Thank you to Rachy at @ohmyedwardian for the gorgeous launch shots in this blog. Rachy chose the mid oak legs and a removable sheepskin cover in seashell.
