A one-off Brown Swiss-inspired cow doorstop made from vanilla and caramel-toned rare breed sheepskin, complete with caramel horns, a soft nose and oversized ears.
The story
Meet the little Chilly Cow.
Created to celebrate the opening of Chilly Cow’s new Tŷ’r Felin café at Loggerheads Country Park, this one-off doorstop takes its inspiration from the Brown Swiss cows living on Michelle’s pal Anna’s family farm in the foothills of the Clwydian Range.
Brown Swiss cows are known for their charming brown coats and beautifully fluffy ears, while their naturally butterfat-rich milk is perfect for making Chilly Cow’s award-winning ice cream.
Our workshop version has been made from a mouthwatering combination of vanilla and caramel-brown rare breed sheepskin — naturally, our favourite flavour is salted caramel. Caramel leather horns and a soft nose complete her friendly face, while her wonderfully large ears give her unmistakable Chilly Cow character.
Weighted with pea gravel, she is sturdy enough to hold a door in place while bringing a little warmth, texture and humour to your home.
There is only one Chilly Cow Doorstop, and once she is gone, we cannot make another exactly the same.

Good to know
This is a one-off handmade piece created from natural rare breed sheepskin. Her colours, markings, ears and wool texture are entirely individual.
Because natural sheepskin varies from fleece to fleece, another Chilly Cow could never be exactly the same.
Styling notes
Place her beside a kitchen, utility-room or boot-room door, where her warm caramel colouring and friendly face can be appreciated every day.
She also makes an excellent hallway companion and a wonderfully unusual gift for a cow lover, ice cream enthusiast or anyone who enjoys home accessories with a little personality.

We source the highest quality grade sheepskin predominantly from flocks across the UK. Where we are unable to source a specific colour within the UK we import sheepskin from New Zealand. Sheep are not farmed for their skins and sheepskin is a by-product of the food industry.

Why Baa Stool?

In 2011 I left the corporate world, moved home to rural North Wales and retrained to be an upholsterer. Two years in, during a tea break from a particularly challenging chair, I was looking at the sheep in the fields surrounding my workshop and mused ‘they look like little footstools. Hmmmmmm…sheepskin covered footstools. Oh yes!’
I spent several months developing the idea and ensuring that every detail of the product is high quality. The frames and legs are made by skilled craftsmen. The sheepskin is always premium grade and predominantly from UK flocks. I source the best upholstery materials and we upholster each Baa Stool using a mix of modern and traditional methods. This is important because I want my customers to enjoy a product that is the very best it can possibly be.
Around this exciting product a group of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals gathered to form 'Team Baa' and a Great Little British Business was born.
I started selling Baa Stools at local artisan markets and county shows and they quickly developed a following. I noticed that the sheepskin cover upholstered on the footstools made people stop in their tracks, look closer…then, inevitably, smile. This quickly became the overall aim of every new design… to make people smile when they walk into a room.
