The story

When a delivery of beautiful black Icelandic sheepskins arrived at the workshop, we knew almost immediately that some of them were destined for our Halloween Drop.

But not simply as rugs.

The wonderfully long, dramatic wool was crying out to become something a little more theatrical, and eventually we settled on a pair of angel wings. Dark, dramatic and just gothic enough for Halloween, but beautiful enough to stay on the wall all year round.

Vicky is our resident wall hanging specialist, so she chose the sheepskin and carefully covered the two wing shapes, allowing that incredible long Icelandic wool to create the feathers.

The result is a wonderfully tactile pair of black wings with plenty of presence. Angelic? Perhaps. Slightly fallen angel? Almost certainly.

Brand new and handmade in our workshop.

As genuine sheepskin is a natural material, the wool will vary slightly in length, curl and texture across the wings. We think this is exactly what makes them so striking.

Good to know

These are substantial statement wall hangings rather than small decorations.

They can be hung close together to create a pair of wings or positioned slightly further apart depending on the wall and the effect you want to create.

Styling notes

Wonderful against a dark painted wall for a full gothic look, but equally striking against pale plaster, stone or neutral walls where the black wool becomes the focal point.

Hang them above a bed, fireplace, console table or chair – somewhere they can have a little drama.
