A bold fuchsia sheepskin tuffet set on sculptural black metal legs. Confident, playful and unapologetically seductive.
MEASUREMENTS
The Boudoir Tuffet was made by Sian as part of Workshop Drop No. 01 – January release, sparked entirely by a pair of black metal legs that stopped us in our tracks.
We don’t often work with black legs, and these had a distinctly insect-like quality. Sculptural, slightly spindly and full of attitude. They needed a seat with just as much confidence to sit above them.
The answer was long wool sheepskin in a vibrant fuchsia pink. The contrast between the soft, plush wool and the sharp black metal is striking, playful and a little bit provocative. It’s bold without being brash, and glamorous without taking itself too seriously.
This is very much a statement piece, but it’s designed to be used every day. A tuffet that knows exactly who it is.
Like all Workshop Drop pieces, it was made one at a time. Once it’s gone, it won’t be remade in exactly the same way.

We source the highest quality grade sheepskin predominantly from flocks across the UK. Where we are unable to source a specific colour within the UK we import sheepskin from New Zealand. Sheep are not farmed for their skins and sheepskin is a by-product of the food industry.

Why Baa Stool?
In 2011 I left the corporate world, moved home to rural North Wales and retrained to be an upholsterer. Two years in, during a tea break from a particularly challenging chair, I was looking at the sheep in the fields surrounding my workshop and mused ‘they look like little footstools. Hmmmmmm…sheepskin covered footstools. Oh yes!’
I spent several months developing the idea and ensuring that every detail of the product is high quality. The frames and legs are made by skilled craftsmen. The sheepskin is always premium grade and predominantly from UK flocks. I source the best upholstery materials and we upholster each Baa Stool using a mix of modern and traditional methods. This is important because I want my customers to enjoy a product that is the very best it can possibly be.
Around this exciting product a group of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals gathered to form ‘Team Baa’ and a Great Little British Business was born.
I started selling Baa Stools at local artisan markets and county shows and they quickly developed a following. I noticed that the sheepskin cover upholstered on the footstools made people stop in their tracks, look closer…then, inevitably, smile. This quickly became the overall aim of every new design… to make people smile when they walk into a room.
