These 100% Herdwick wool dryer balls help soften clothes naturally, increasing fluffiness as the dryer tumbles, eliminating the need for fabric softeners or dryer sheets. They are also much quieter and more environmentally friendly than the plastic alternatives. Just pop all three balls into the dryer for a small load of laundry. Or for larger, more heavy duty loads try six or more.
- These felted laundry balls will last for 1,000’s of loads.
- Help circulate air between garments, to facilitate drying
- Massage fabric surface for a fluffier finish
- Reduce creasing in the tumble dryer for easier ironing
- Natural lanolin contents softens and smooths garments
- No need for expensive softeners that can leave annoying residue
- Each pack of 3 sheep dryer balls are made with 100g of natural, undyed Herdwick wool.
- On average, Laundry Balls are 7cm in diameter.
A chemical free alternative to liquid fabric softeners and dryer sheets. Perfect for use with cloth nappies / cloth diapers as they don’t leave behind any residue. Simple. Natural.
This is one pack of 3 Herdwick sheep dryer balls (grey with white faces). Herdwick sheep are probably the most hardy of all the UK breeds of hill sheep, grazing in the mountainous dales of the English Lake District, which has fells rising to more than 915m (3,000ft) above sea level. The word ‘herdwyck’, meaning sheep pasture, is recorded in documents as far back as the 12th century. Made with 100% British wool from British sheep.

We source the highest quality grade sheepskin predominantly from flocks across the UK. Where we are unable to source a specific colour within the UK we import sheepskin from New Zealand. Sheep are not farmed for their skins and sheepskin is a by-product of the food industry.

Why Baa Stool?
In 2011 I left the corporate world, moved home to rural North Wales and retrained to be an upholsterer. Two years in, during a tea break from a particularly challenging chair, I was looking at the sheep in the fields surrounding my workshop and mused ‘they look like little footstools. Hmmmmmm…sheepskin covered footstools. Oh yes!’
I spent several months developing the idea and ensuring that every detail of the product is high quality. The frames and legs are made by skilled craftsmen. The sheepskin is always premium grade and predominantly from UK flocks. I source the best upholstery materials and we upholster each Baa Stool using a mix of modern and traditional methods. This is important because I want my customers to enjoy a product that is the very best it can possibly be.
Around this exciting product a group of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals gathered to form ‘Team Baa’ and a Great Little British Business was born.
I started selling Baa Stools at local artisan markets and county shows and they quickly developed a following. I noticed that the sheepskin cover upholstered on the footstools made people stop in their tracks, look closer…then, inevitably, smile. This quickly became the overall aim of every new design… to make people smile when they walk into a room.
