Sheepskin Cleaning and Re-finishing Service
Price range: £35.00 through £280.00
Sheepskin is hardwearing and resists dirt and stains. However, over time, like any natural fabric it ages. Our sheepskin cleaning and re-finishing service can give your rug or Baa Stool cover a new lease of life.
Send us your rug or cover and we will unpick the stitching and send it to the tannery where it will be cleaned, combed and fully re-finished.
We then restitch if required and send it back to you.
In most cases the rug or cover will look like new!
Once you have purchased this service we will be in touch with further instructions.
It’s hard to give a lead time on this service as the tannery wait for a batch before the clean – so please be prepared to wait anything up to 6 weeks although it is usually much faster.
Important information:
For hygiene and safety reasons, the specialist tannery is unable to accept sheepskins that have been soiled by biological contaminants. If you have any doubts we recommend checking your rug is suitable before booking the service.
Here’s a handy guide so you can identify the size of your rug. If your rug has straight sides or any kind of fabric backing sewn to it please contact us for a bespoke quotation.

Why Baa Stool?
In 2011 I left the corporate world, moved home to rural North Wales and retrained to be an upholsterer. Two years in, during a tea break from a particularly challenging chair, I was looking at the sheep in the fields surrounding my workshop and mused ‘they look like little footstools. Hmmmmmm…sheepskin covered footstools. Oh yes!’
I spent several months developing the idea and ensuring that every detail of the product is high quality. The frames and legs are made by skilled craftsmen. The sheepskin is always premium grade and predominantly from UK flocks. I source the best upholstery materials and we upholster each Baa Stool using a mix of modern and traditional methods. This is important because I want my customers to enjoy a product that is the very best it can possibly be.
Around this exciting product a group of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals gathered to form ‘Team Baa’ and a Great Little British Business was born.
I started selling Baa Stools at local artisan markets and county shows and they quickly developed a following. I noticed that the sheepskin cover upholstered on the footstools made people stop in their tracks, look closer…then, inevitably, smile. This quickly became the overall aim of every new design… to make people smile when they walk into a room.

Amazing! Was sooo impressed after my dog chewed honeycomb on the rug! They got it out I think there was some very light staining left but you wouldn’t notice it’s amazing
