A little wild. A lot wonderful.
There’s something rather magnificent about a Wooligan in chocolate.
Deep, rich, woodland browns. Long, gloriously unruly wool. Natural variations that catch the light and give this handsome beast a character all of its own.
It’s a little bit bear, a little bit armchair, and a whole lot of lovely.
Meet The Wooligan. Our generously proportioned sheepskin armchair, designed for those who take the business of being comfortable very seriously.
Six sheepskins. One very special chair.
Creating a rare breed Wooligan is rather like putting together a beautiful, shaggy jigsaw puzzle.
We carefully select six British rare breed sheepskins, matching their rich chocolate tones, natural markings, wool length and texture until they work together as one.
It’s a painstaking process, carried out entirely by hand in our North Wales workshop. And because nature never makes two sheepskins quite the same, every Wooligan has its own wonderful personality.
The result? A chair that looks as though it grew that way.
Come on in. Make yourself comfortable.
There’s a reason our customers liken sitting in a Wooligan to wearing their favourite cardigan.
That deep, generous, handsprung seat, the enveloping warmth of natural sheepskin, the wonderfully silky wool that seems to wrap itself around you.
It’s the sort of chair that turns a quick cup of tea into an entire afternoon. The one everyone gravitates towards. The one the dog has probably already claimed.
And because sheepskin is naturally breathable and temperature-regulating, it’s every bit as lovely to sit in throughout the warmer months as it is when winter comes calling.
Every Wooligan needs a sidekick.
Of course, you could let your Wooligan roam solo. It’s certainly got enough personality to hold its own.
But for the truly committed lounger, we’ve created three rather wonderful companions.
Regular Pouffe
Approximately 45cm diameter × 27cm high.
A lovely low companion for putting your feet up and settling in.
Large Pouffe
Approximately 50cm diameter × 40cm high.
Generously proportioned and at seat height, for stretching out and staying put.
The Scallywag Footstool
Approximately 55cm wide × 45cm deep × 40cm high.
A handsome, sturdy footstool with oak legs that echo The Wooligan’s own, bringing a little extra structure to your lounging arrangements.
Each sidekick is upholstered in carefully selected sheepskin to complement your chair, creating your very own little chocolate-coloured flock.
Choose your legs
Your Wooligan is handmade to order with your choice of wooden leg finish.
Simply tell us which finish you’d prefer in the Order Notes at checkout, and we’ll take care of the rest.
The options are outlined in one of the product images, Natural, Light Oak, Dark oak, Walnut or Ebony.
Made slowly. Made beautifully. Made to stay.
There’s nothing mass-produced about a Wooligan.
From selecting and matching the sheepskins to the final upholstery, every chair is made with care, skill and an enormous amount of pride in our Denbigh workshop.
It’s a statement piece, certainly. But more importantly, it’s a chair to live in, curl up in and make memories in.
Go on. Adopt a Wooligan.
Just don’t expect to get your seat back once the rest of the family discovers it.

Good to Know
Naturally individual
Every rare breed Wooligan is unique. The chocolate tones, wool length and natural markings will vary between chairs, and that’s exactly what makes them so special.
We take great care to select and match the six sheepskins used for each chair, creating a beautifully balanced finish while celebrating the character of the natural wool.
Made just for you
Each Wooligan is handmade to order in our North Wales workshop, with your chosen wooden leg finish and optional matching sidekick.
Styling Notes
The Wooligan in natural chocolate is a rather glorious way to bring warmth and texture into a room.
Those rich, earthy browns look fabulous against natural oak, aged leather, warm stone and soft neutral linens. Try it beside a wood-burning stove, in a cosy reading corner or as the star of a relaxed country living room.
It’s equally striking in a contemporary interior, where its organic shape and wonderfully unruly wool make a beautiful contrast to clean lines and simple furnishings.
A chair that doesn’t just fill a corner. It makes the corner.

We source the highest quality grade sheepskin predominantly from flocks across the UK. Where we are unable to source a specific colour within the UK we import sheepskin from New Zealand. Sheep are not farmed for their skins and sheepskin is a by-product of the food industry.
Rare breed sheepskin is wonderfully expressive. Each piece has its own natural character, with variations in wool length, texture, curl and colour that make every creation entirely unique.
Tones range from soft creams and warm ivories through to rich browns and deep chocolate shades, often with subtle variation across a single fleece. Some pieces are long and flowing, others more textured and sculptural — all naturally occurring and impossible to replicate.
This natural diversity is exactly what gives rare breed pieces their depth, movement and individuality.

For made-to-order pieces, you’re invited to select your favourites from the collection. From there, we carefully curate a complementary set, considering tone, texture and flow so everything works beautifully together. We’ll always share the selection with you for approval before any making begins.
As sheepskin is a natural product the wool on each of our sheepskin products is unique and can differ in texture and length. That's why we specify that our measurements are approximate.
Please keep the dyed colours out of strong sunlight as it may bleach and dry out the skin. The natural colours of Ivory, Rare Breed and Chocolate will not be affected by strong sunlight.

Why Baa Stool?

In 2011 I left the corporate world, moved home to rural North Wales and retrained to be an upholsterer. Two years in, during a tea break from a particularly challenging chair, I was looking at the sheep in the fields surrounding my workshop and mused ‘they look like little footstools. Hmmmmmm…sheepskin covered footstools. Oh yes!’
I spent several months developing the idea and ensuring that every detail of the product is high quality. The frames and legs are made by skilled craftsmen. The sheepskin is always premium grade and predominantly from UK flocks. I source the best upholstery materials and we upholster each Baa Stool using a mix of modern and traditional methods. This is important because I want my customers to enjoy a product that is the very best it can possibly be.
Around this exciting product a group of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals gathered to form 'Team Baa' and a Great Little British Business was born.
I started selling Baa Stools at local artisan markets and county shows and they quickly developed a following. I noticed that the sheepskin cover upholstered on the footstools made people stop in their tracks, look closer…then, inevitably, smile. This quickly became the overall aim of every new design… to make people smile when they walk into a room.
