A collection of five washable sheepskin dog rugs in natural chocolate and grey tones, chosen by Michelle for comfort, practicality and everyday home use.

The story

We know how this goes. You buy a beautiful sheepskin rug for the house, and within minutes the dog has decided it belongs to them.

So for this Drop, Michelle has chosen a collection of five deep-pile sheepskins especially for their suitability as dog rugs. They are beautifully soft, very comfy, and in a wonderfully forgiving mix of milk and dark chocolate with grey strands – just the sort of colouring that is practical enough to hide a bit of dust and dirt while still looking lovely in the home.

Each one is a single sheepskin, with natural undyed wool and generous proportions. They are not only a treat for your dog, but a genuinely beautiful rug in their own right. Dogs do always seem to favour lying on sheepskin, and once they have tried one, it is hard to argue with them.

Practical too, they can go into the washing machine on a cold wash using a wool cleaner or sheepskin detergent and be dried very, very slowly.

Sold individually, with just five available for this Drop.

We source the highest quality grade sheepskin predominantly from flocks across the UK.  Where we are unable to source a specific colour within the UK we import sheepskin from New Zealand.  Sheep are not farmed for their skins and sheepskin is a by-product of the food industry.

Some of our stools require very basic assembly. We have a fully dedicated page to guide you on how to assemble your Baa Stool.  Click on the link below to view our full guide.

Why Baa Stool?

Baa Stool Meet The Team

In 2011 I left the corporate world, moved home to rural North Wales and retrained to be an upholsterer.  Two years in, during a tea break from a particularly challenging chair, I was looking at the sheep in the fields surrounding my workshop and mused ‘they look like little footstools. Hmmmmmm…sheepskin covered footstools. Oh yes!’

I spent several months developing the idea and ensuring that every detail of the product is high quality.  The frames and legs are made by skilled craftsmen.  The sheepskin is always premium grade and predominantly from UK flocks.  I source the best upholstery materials and we upholster each Baa Stool using a mix of modern and traditional methods.  This is important because I want my customers to enjoy a product that is the very best it can possibly be.

Around this exciting product a group of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals gathered to form 'Team Baa' and a Great Little British Business was born.

I started selling Baa Stools at local artisan markets and county shows and they quickly developed a following. I noticed that the sheepskin cover upholstered on the footstools made people stop in their tracks, look closer…then, inevitably, smile. This quickly became the overall aim of every new design… to make people smile when they walk into a room.
