MEASUREMENTS
The story
When we first created The Wooligan, we set out to make the cosiest chair possible.
That meant starting with a locally made hardwood frame, building the seat properly with traditional hand-lashed cone springs, and then choosing sheepskin for the part you actually live with.
We use high-quality sheepskin selected for its dense, springy loft, softness and durability, so the chair feels wonderfully inviting while still standing up to everyday use.
The result is a deep, generous armchair designed for proper lounging. Soft enough to sink into, supportive enough to stay comfortable, and wrapped in the kind of tactile long wool that makes you want to reach out and touch it.
This version of The Wooligan is available in 11 sheepskin colours:
Seashell, Eggshell, Pebble, Fossil, Dusky Pink, Navy, Teal, Mushroom, Pumpkin Spice, Moss and Slate Grey.
Each shade gives the chair a completely different personality, while underneath it remains the same Wooligan we originally set out to create: beautifully made, deeply comfortable and designed to be lived in.
Every chair is handmade and finished by hand in our workshop in North Wales.

The Scallywag is an oblong oak-legged footstool, upholstered in the same sheepskin colour as your chair and sits at the same height as the seat so the two work beautifully as a pair.

Good to know
Your Wooligan is made especially for you.
Sheepskin is a natural material, so even dyed skins will have small variations in wool length, texture and movement. We carefully select and balance the skins used on each chair so the finished piece feels cohesive while still retaining the character of natural sheepskin.
Colours can also appear slightly different depending on your screen and the light in your room, so we recommend ordering a sheepskin sample if you are deciding between shades.
Styling notes
The Wooligan works beautifully as a statement chair without feeling overly formal.
The softer shades such as Eggshell, Pebble, Fossil and Mushroom sit very easily in neutral interiors, while Navy, Teal, Pumpkin Spice and Shamrock create a much stronger focal point.
Add the matching Scallywag for a complete lounging set, or pair the chair with one of our larger pouffes if you prefer something softer and more relaxed alongside it.

We source the highest quality grade sheepskin predominantly from flocks across the UK. Where we are unable to source a specific colour within the UK we import sheepskin from New Zealand. Sheep are not farmed for their skins and sheepskin is a by-product of the food industry.
Rare breed sheepskin is wonderfully expressive. Each piece has its own natural character, with variations in wool length, texture, curl and colour that make every creation entirely unique.
Tones range from soft creams and warm ivories through to rich browns and deep chocolate shades, often with subtle variation across a single fleece. Some pieces are long and flowing, others more textured and sculptural — all naturally occurring and impossible to replicate.
This natural diversity is exactly what gives rare breed pieces their depth, movement and individuality.

For made-to-order pieces, you’re invited to select your favourites from the collection. From there, we carefully curate a complementary set, considering tone, texture and flow so everything works beautifully together. We’ll always share the selection with you for approval before any making begins.
As sheepskin is a natural product the wool on each of our sheepskin products is unique and can differ in texture and length. That’s why we specify that our measurements are approximate.
Please keep the dyed colours out of strong sunlight as it may bleach and dry out the skin. The natural colours of Ivory, Rare Breed and Chocolate will not be affected by strong sunlight.

Why Baa Stool?
In 2011 I left the corporate world, moved home to rural North Wales and retrained to be an upholsterer. Two years in, during a tea break from a particularly challenging chair, I was looking at the sheep in the fields surrounding my workshop and mused ‘they look like little footstools. Hmmmmmm…sheepskin covered footstools. Oh yes!’
I spent several months developing the idea and ensuring that every detail of the product is high quality. The frames and legs are made by skilled craftsmen. The sheepskin is always premium grade and predominantly from UK flocks. I source the best upholstery materials and we upholster each Baa Stool using a mix of modern and traditional methods. This is important because I want my customers to enjoy a product that is the very best it can possibly be.
Around this exciting product a group of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals gathered to form ‘Team Baa’ and a Great Little British Business was born.
I started selling Baa Stools at local artisan markets and county shows and they quickly developed a following. I noticed that the sheepskin cover upholstered on the footstools made people stop in their tracks, look closer…then, inevitably, smile. This quickly became the overall aim of every new design… to make people smile when they walk into a room.
