A gloriously rich Wine velvety sheepskin throw, backed with soft Linwood wool fabric patterned with autumnal oak leaves. Weighty, warm and wonderfully cocooning – made for sofas, beds and the colder evenings that have most definitely arrived.

The story
The weather has turned, and this is exactly what we want to come home to.
Made from our velvety sheepskin in a rich Wine colour, this throw has that wonderful soft lustre and natural shade variation that makes shorn sheepskin so tactile.
But turn it over and it gets even more autumnal.
We’ve backed it with a beautiful soft Linwood wool fabric in warm seasonal colours, patterned with oak leaves.

It could hardly be more perfect for this time of year if it arrived carrying a mug of hot chocolate.
Our velvety throws are also wonderfully substantial. There is a comforting weight to them that makes them feel almost like a weighted blanket when you pull one over your knees.

This colour comes into its own at this time of year.
Wine works beautifully with oak, walnut and other darker woods, as well as oatmeal, cream, olive, rust and other earthy autumn shades.
Throw it over a neutral sofa for an instant injection of colour or layer it onto a bed with linen and wool.
It is also exactly the sort of thing you’ll find yourself reaching for when the heating hasn’t quite gone on but the evening has definitely decided it’s autumn.

We source the highest quality grade sheepskin predominantly from flocks across the UK. Where we are unable to source a specific colour within the UK we import sheepskin from New Zealand. Sheep are not farmed for their skins and sheepskin is a by-product of the food industry.

Why Baa Stool?
In 2011 I left the corporate world, moved home to rural North Wales and retrained to be an upholsterer. Two years in, during a tea break from a particularly challenging chair, I was looking at the sheep in the fields surrounding my workshop and mused ‘they look like little footstools. Hmmmmmm…sheepskin covered footstools. Oh yes!’
I spent several months developing the idea and ensuring that every detail of the product is high quality. The frames and legs are made by skilled craftsmen. The sheepskin is always premium grade and predominantly from UK flocks. I source the best upholstery materials and we upholster each Baa Stool using a mix of modern and traditional methods. This is important because I want my customers to enjoy a product that is the very best it can possibly be.
Around this exciting product a group of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals gathered to form 'Team Baa' and a Great Little British Business was born.
I started selling Baa Stools at local artisan markets and county shows and they quickly developed a following. I noticed that the sheepskin cover upholstered on the footstools made people stop in their tracks, look closer…then, inevitably, smile. This quickly became the overall aim of every new design… to make people smile when they walk into a room.
