Himalayan Sheepskin Rug – Naturally Beautiful, Exceptionally Soft
Create inviting, layered interiors with a Himalayan sheepskin rug. Its silky long fleece adds depth and warmth, perfect for layering over other rugs or furniture. This rug’s natural beauty and tactile softness bring a cozy, elegant feel to any room, making it a versatile and luxurious choice.
Sourced from the remote Himalayan regions, these sheepskin rugs are prized for their incredible softness, lightweight feel, and unique natural beauty. Raised in high-altitude pastures, Himalayan sheep develop a fine, silky fleece that provides warmth and durability while remaining exceptionally light and soft to the touch.
Each rug is one of a kind, predominantly white with distinctive black, brown, or ginger markings. No two are alike, making every piece a natural work of art.
Tanned using traditional techniques in China or Mongolia, these sheepskins retain their luxurious texture and durability. Their lightweight nature makes them easy to drape over furniture, add warmth to a chair, or create a soft, inviting surface underfoot.
A small number of rugs may have a discreet stitch on the back to repair a minor flaw – this is a normal part of the tanning process and does not affect the overall look or quality.
Once it’s gone, it’s gone! Each rug is completely unique, so choose your favourite before someone else does.

We source the highest quality grade sheepskin predominantly from flocks across the UK. Where we are unable to source a specific colour within the UK we import sheepskin from New Zealand. Sheep are not farmed for their skins and sheepskin is a by-product of the food industry.
Some of our stools require very basic assembly. We have a fully dedicated page to guide you on how to assemble your Baa Stool. Click on the link below to view our full guide.

Why Baa Stool?
In 2011 I left the corporate world, moved home to rural North Wales and retrained to be an upholsterer. Two years in, during a tea break from a particularly challenging chair, I was looking at the sheep in the fields surrounding my workshop and mused ‘they look like little footstools. Hmmmmmm…sheepskin covered footstools. Oh yes!’
I spent several months developing the idea and ensuring that every detail of the product is high quality. The frames and legs are made by skilled craftsmen. The sheepskin is always premium grade and predominantly from UK flocks. I source the best upholstery materials and we upholster each Baa Stool using a mix of modern and traditional methods. This is important because I want my customers to enjoy a product that is the very best it can possibly be.
Around this exciting product a group of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals gathered to form ‘Team Baa’ and a Great Little British Business was born.
I started selling Baa Stools at local artisan markets and county shows and they quickly developed a following. I noticed that the sheepskin cover upholstered on the footstools made people stop in their tracks, look closer…then, inevitably, smile. This quickly became the overall aim of every new design… to make people smile when they walk into a room.
