Built on a beautifully made solid wood frame, we’ve added traditional cone springs to create a deeply comfortable seat, then carefully upholstered the entire piece in tactile sheepskin. The result is a chair that feels as good as it looks – soft, supportive and full of natural texture.

With its gentle curves and slightly retro feel, Jupiter sits perfectly within a calm, warm, contemporary space. It has that effortless Scandi influence, softened by the richness and depth of real sheepskin.

Sheepskin is naturally durable, breathable and wonderfully tactile, making it an ideal choice for everyday furniture that is made to be used and loved.

We source the highest quality grade sheepskin predominantly from flocks across the UK.  Where we are unable to source a specific colour within the UK we import sheepskin from New Zealand.  Sheep are not farmed for their skins and sheepskin is a by-product of the food industry.

Rare breed sheepskin is wonderfully expressive. Each piece has its own natural character, with variations in wool length, texture, curl and colour that make every creation entirely unique.

Tones range from soft creams and warm ivories through to rich browns and deep chocolate shades, often with subtle variation across a single fleece. Some pieces are long and flowing, others more textured and sculptural — all naturally occurring and impossible to replicate.

This natural diversity is exactly what gives rare breed pieces their depth, movement and individuality.

For made-to-order pieces, you’re invited to select your favourites from the collection. From there, we carefully curate a complementary set, considering tone, texture and flow so everything works beautifully together. We’ll always share the selection with you for approval before any making begins.

As sheepskin is a natural product the wool on each of our sheepskin products is unique and can differ in texture and length.  That’s why we specify that our measurements are approximate.

Please keep the dyed colours out of strong sunlight as it may bleach and dry out the skin.  The natural colours of Ivory, Rare Breed and Chocolate will not be affected by strong sunlight.

I have just received my beautiful Jupiter Chair and her moon and can’t be happier. The comfort and quality is outstanding and I love the style. Michelle has been so engaging and helpful from the moment I contacted her through the chat on her website and the icing on the cake was its unexpected transportation all the way to Ireland ! Thankyou so much Michelle I am absolutely thrilled.

  2. Helen (verified owner)

I recently purchased a sheepskin armchair and stool from Baa Stool Ltd. I had looked online at multiple Scandi-style sheepskin armchairs from companies in Sweden and Denmark, then a British company, Baa Stool, popped up in my feed. The owner Michelle invited me to a video call to show me a chair and stool she had just finished making. It was exactly what I was looking for. She drove from Denbighshire to Coventry to deliver it. It is fabulous. It feels like sitting in a cloud. AND it looks really stylish. Thank you Michelle and team.

Why Baa Stool?

Baa Stool Meet The Team

In 2011 I left the corporate world, moved home to rural North Wales and retrained to be an upholsterer.  Two years in, during a tea break from a particularly challenging chair, I was looking at the sheep in the fields surrounding my workshop and mused ‘they look like little footstools. Hmmmmmm…sheepskin covered footstools. Oh yes!’

I spent several months developing the idea and ensuring that every detail of the product is high quality.  The frames and legs are made by skilled craftsmen.  The sheepskin is always premium grade and predominantly from UK flocks.  I source the best upholstery materials and we upholster each Baa Stool using a mix of modern and traditional methods.  This is important because I want my customers to enjoy a product that is the very best it can possibly be.

Around this exciting product a group of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals gathered to form ‘Team Baa’ and a Great Little British Business was born.

I started selling Baa Stools at local artisan markets and county shows and they quickly developed a following. I noticed that the sheepskin cover upholstered on the footstools made people stop in their tracks, look closer…then, inevitably, smile. This quickly became the overall aim of every new design… to make people smile when they walk into a room.
