The story
We have been wanting to play with a deeper, softer version of our Betty coffee table for a while. Then a new set of almost-spherical bun feet arrived in the workshop, and suddenly the idea made perfect sense.
This one-off Drop piece brings the two together.
Made by Jane and Sanna, this low-slung ottoman table is fully covered in oatmeal bouclé sheepskin and finished with chunky walnut barrel bun feet. The top is flat enough for a tray, so it can work beautifully as a soft coffee table alternative, but it is also very happy being used as a footstool, low lounge piece or extra layer of texture in a sitting room.
It is practical, tactile and just a little bit indulgent – exactly the sort of thing we like to make when an idea has been quietly brewing.

This is a low ottoman table, designed to sit close to the floor as a relaxed lounge piece.
The top is flat enough for a tray, but as with all sheepskin-covered furniture, we recommend using a tray for drinks, candles or anything that could spill.

We source the highest quality grade sheepskin predominantly from flocks across the UK. Where we are unable to source a specific colour within the UK we import sheepskin from New Zealand. Sheep are not farmed for their skins and sheepskin is a by-product of the food industry.

Why Baa Stool?
In 2011 I left the corporate world, moved home to rural North Wales and retrained to be an upholsterer. Two years in, during a tea break from a particularly challenging chair, I was looking at the sheep in the fields surrounding my workshop and mused ‘they look like little footstools. Hmmmmmm…sheepskin covered footstools. Oh yes!’
I spent several months developing the idea and ensuring that every detail of the product is high quality. The frames and legs are made by skilled craftsmen. The sheepskin is always premium grade and predominantly from UK flocks. I source the best upholstery materials and we upholster each Baa Stool using a mix of modern and traditional methods. This is important because I want my customers to enjoy a product that is the very best it can possibly be.
Around this exciting product a group of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals gathered to form 'Team Baa' and a Great Little British Business was born.
I started selling Baa Stools at local artisan markets and county shows and they quickly developed a following. I noticed that the sheepskin cover upholstered on the footstools made people stop in their tracks, look closer…then, inevitably, smile. This quickly became the overall aim of every new design… to make people smile when they walk into a room.
