MEASUREMENTS
Meet The Bumble Baa Pouffe, made as part of Workshop Drop No. 01 – January release.
This piece came about when Sanna and Sian spotted our velvety yellow sheepskin sitting next to black in the workshop and immediately thought of the soft, fuzzy fur of a bumble bee. Once that idea had landed, there was no turning back.
We were curious to see just how sharp and graphic we could make stripes using velvety sheepskin. Stripes in long wool can sometimes look a little scruffy, but this material behaved beautifully. The result is crisp, bold striping with a finish that feels more like long-pile velvet than wool.
Originally started as a tuffet cover, the design quickly grew an extra stripe and became a pouffe instead. It felt right. More bee, more bounce, more personality.
It’s wonderfully plush, very soft to the touch and designed to be used every day. A proper statement piece that still earns its keep.
Like all Workshop Drop pieces, this pouffe was made one at a time in our workshop. Once it’s gone, it won’t be remade in exactly the same way.

We source the highest quality grade sheepskin predominantly from flocks across the UK. Where we are unable to source a specific colour within the UK we import sheepskin from New Zealand. Sheep are not farmed for their skins and sheepskin is a by-product of the food industry.
Some of our stools require very basic assembly. We have a fully dedicated page to guide you on how to assemble your Baa Stool. Click on the link below to view our full guide.

Why Baa Stool?
In 2011 I left the corporate world, moved home to rural North Wales and retrained to be an upholsterer. Two years in, during a tea break from a particularly challenging chair, I was looking at the sheep in the fields surrounding my workshop and mused ‘they look like little footstools. Hmmmmmm…sheepskin covered footstools. Oh yes!’
I spent several months developing the idea and ensuring that every detail of the product is high quality. The frames and legs are made by skilled craftsmen. The sheepskin is always premium grade and predominantly from UK flocks. I source the best upholstery materials and we upholster each Baa Stool using a mix of modern and traditional methods. This is important because I want my customers to enjoy a product that is the very best it can possibly be.
Around this exciting product a group of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals gathered to form ‘Team Baa’ and a Great Little British Business was born.
I started selling Baa Stools at local artisan markets and county shows and they quickly developed a following. I noticed that the sheepskin cover upholstered on the footstools made people stop in their tracks, look closer…then, inevitably, smile. This quickly became the overall aim of every new design… to make people smile when they walk into a room.
