A lighter take on our curled-up sheepskin hedgehog door stop. Marilyn is made from mottled blonde-toned rare breed sheepskin with an oatmeal shearling tummy and face, brown leather eye patches, black glass eyes and black wool felt details.
A small curled-up sheepskin hedgehog door stop with soft blonde tones and plenty of woodland character.
The story
Meet Marilyn.
Marilyn is Hattie’s lighter-haired sister, made in exactly the same curled-up hedgehog style and part of our Woodland Animals range.
She has all of Hattie’s charm, but with a softer, paler look. Her long shaggy “spines” are made from beautifully mottled rare breed sheepskin in lighter natural shades, giving her an almost blonde appearance, while her tummy and face are finished in soft oatmeal shearling.
Brown leather eye patches frame her black glass eyes, while a black wool felt nose and matching black wool felt feet finish her little face and paws.
Like Hattie, Marilyn lies gently curled on her back and has enough weight to hold a door beautifully. She is practical, yes, but very much a decorative character too — the sort of little woodland creature that quietly makes herself at home wherever you put her.

Good to know
Marilyn is filled with pebbles, giving her enough weight to work as a practical door stop.
As with all natural rare breed sheepskin, every Marilyn will vary slightly in colour, markings and fleece texture, making each one completely individual.
She is easy to care for. Please refer to our sheepskin care guide for looking after the wool.
Styling notes
Marilyn is designed as a door stop, but she is characterful enough to be decorative too.
Use her by a door, on a hearth, tucked under a bench, placed on a shelf or styled on the floor in a boot room, hallway, snug or cottage corner. Her lighter neutral colouring works especially beautifully with oak, stone, linen and other natural textures.
As sheepskin is a natural product the wool on each of our sheepskin products is unique and can differ in texture and length. That's why we specify that our measurements are approximate.
Please keep the dyed colours out of strong sunlight as it may bleach and dry out the skin.

We understand how important it is to keep your lovely sheepskin looking baamazing..so we’ve created a list of tips and tricks on how to do just that!
We source the highest quality grade sheepskin predominantly from flocks across the UK. Where we are unable to source a specific colour within the UK we import sheepskin from New Zealand. Sheep are not bred for their skins and sheepskin is a by product of the food industry.

Why Baa Stool?

In 2011 I left the corporate world, moved home to rural North Wales and retrained to be an upholsterer. Two years in, during a tea break from a particularly challenging chair, I was looking at the sheep in the fields surrounding my workshop and mused ‘they look like little footstools. Hmmmmmm…sheepskin covered footstools. Oh yes!’
I spent several months developing the idea and ensuring that every detail of the product is high quality. The frames and legs are made by skilled craftsmen. The sheepskin is always premium grade and predominantly from UK flocks. I source the best upholstery materials and we upholster each Baa Stool using a mix of modern and traditional methods. This is important because I want my customers to enjoy a product that is the very best it can possibly be.
Around this exciting product a group of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals gathered to form 'Team Baa' and a Great Little British Business was born.
I started selling Baa Stools at local artisan markets and county shows and they quickly developed a following. I noticed that the sheepskin cover upholstered on the footstools made people stop in their tracks, look closer…then, inevitably, smile. This quickly became the overall aim of every new design… to make people smile when they walk into a room.
