Our autumn favourite returns in Bone, Beige and Copper sheepskin. Each Doorkin is handmade with a real leather stalk and enough weight to keep troublesome doors in their place.

The story

Autumn has arrived in the workshop.

Which means Doorkin is back.

Our sheepskin pumpkin doorstop has become a bit of an autumn favourite and this time we have made three wonderfully neutral versions for Drop 17.

Bone. Beige. Copper.

Each one is made from beautifully tactile sheepskin, shaped into a plump pumpkin and finished with a real leather stalk.

We wanted these to feel autumnal without becoming overly Halloween-y.

Something you could put beside the door in September and still be perfectly happy looking at in November.

They are not purely decorative either.

Each Doorkin weighs approximately 1.5kg, so there is enough substance there to keep a door where it belongs and help tackle those first autumn draughts.

Useful. Soft. A little bit seasonal.

And considerably easier to keep than a real pumpkin.

Styling notes

Perfect beside an internal door, in a hallway or tucked into a cosy corner.

The three neutral shades make these easy to mix into an existing interior while still bringing in a little seasonal colour and texture.

Bone feels light and natural, Beige brings soft earthy warmth and Copper gives you the richest autumn tone of the three.

Drop note

These three Doorkins were handmade especially for our autumn-inspired Drop 17.

We source the highest quality grade sheepskin predominantly from flocks across the UK.  Where we are unable to source a specific colour within the UK we import sheepskin from New Zealand.  Sheep are not farmed for their skins and sheepskin is a by-product of the food industry.

Some of our stools require very basic assembly. We have a fully dedicated page to guide you on how to assemble your Baa Stool.  Click on the link below to view our full guide.

Why Baa Stool?

Baa Stool Meet The Team

In 2011 I left the corporate world, moved home to rural North Wales and retrained to be an upholsterer.  Two years in, during a tea break from a particularly challenging chair, I was looking at the sheep in the fields surrounding my workshop and mused ‘they look like little footstools. Hmmmmmm…sheepskin covered footstools. Oh yes!’

I spent several months developing the idea and ensuring that every detail of the product is high quality.  The frames and legs are made by skilled craftsmen.  The sheepskin is always premium grade and predominantly from UK flocks.  I source the best upholstery materials and we upholster each Baa Stool using a mix of modern and traditional methods.  This is important because I want my customers to enjoy a product that is the very best it can possibly be.

Around this exciting product a group of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals gathered to form ‘Team Baa’ and a Great Little British Business was born.

I started selling Baa Stools at local artisan markets and county shows and they quickly developed a following. I noticed that the sheepskin cover upholstered on the footstools made people stop in their tracks, look closer…then, inevitably, smile. This quickly became the overall aim of every new design… to make people smile when they walk into a room.
