Meet Biscuit, our first large Jersey cow pouffe in new Biscuit coloured sheepskin, combining a soft shearling body with matching curly Yeti wool, cream leather details and bags of character.
The story
Meet Biscuit.
She is rather special because she is the very first piece we have made in our new Biscuit coloured sheepskin.
And what better way to introduce Biscuit than with a Jersey cow?
For the first time on one of our large cow pouffes, we have made the body from soft shearling sheepskin rather than long wool.
Then we added matching Biscuit coloured Yeti sheepskin for her wonderfully curly fringe and ears.
The two textures work beautifully together.
Smooth, soft shearling across the body, then all that wild curly wool around her face.
Her horns and nose are made from cream leather and she has deep black glass eyes which, as always, are the moment the personality really appears.
She is generously filled with a mixture of beanbag beads and sheepskin trimmings from our workshop, making her substantial but still satisfyingly squidgy.
Our first Biscuit piece.
Our first shearling bodied cow.
And full of character.

Styling notes
Biscuit’s warm neutral colouring makes her surprisingly easy to live with.
She would sit beautifully in a natural, Scandi-inspired interior alongside pale woods, warm neutrals, linen and wool.
And despite all that character, the Biscuit shade keeps her feeling wonderfully grown-up.
Drop note
Biscuit was made especially for Drop 17 and is the first Baa Stool piece to appear in our new Biscuit coloured sheepskin.
This particular cow is a one-off – variations may well enter our main range.

We source the highest quality grade sheepskin predominantly from flocks across the UK. Where we are unable to source a specific colour within the UK we import sheepskin from New Zealand. Sheep are not farmed for their skins and sheepskin is a by-product of the food industry.

Why Baa Stool?

In 2011 I left the corporate world, moved home to rural North Wales and retrained to be an upholsterer. Two years in, during a tea break from a particularly challenging chair, I was looking at the sheep in the fields surrounding my workshop and mused ‘they look like little footstools. Hmmmmmm…sheepskin covered footstools. Oh yes!’
I spent several months developing the idea and ensuring that every detail of the product is high quality. The frames and legs are made by skilled craftsmen. The sheepskin is always premium grade and predominantly from UK flocks. I source the best upholstery materials and we upholster each Baa Stool using a mix of modern and traditional methods. This is important because I want my customers to enjoy a product that is the very best it can possibly be.
Around this exciting product a group of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals gathered to form 'Team Baa' and a Great Little British Business was born.
I started selling Baa Stools at local artisan markets and county shows and they quickly developed a following. I noticed that the sheepskin cover upholstered on the footstools made people stop in their tracks, look closer…then, inevitably, smile. This quickly became the overall aim of every new design… to make people smile when they walk into a room.
