A one-off set of three handmade mushroom velvet cushions, finished with a thick 8cm border of matching long wool sheepskin around the edge. Includes two 45cm x 45cm cushions and one 55cm x 55cm cushion, all with feather inners and beautifully hidden zip fastenings. Handmade by Sian in our North Wales workshop.

A soft, elegant set of three mushroom velvet cushions, each finished with a thick long wool sheepskin border.

The story

We love a good texture pairing, and this one feels especially lovely.

This cushion set brings together soft mushroom velvet and matching long wool sheepskin in a way that feels calm, tactile and quietly luxurious. The velvet is used on both sides of each cushion, then framed with a thick 8cm border of mushroom long wool sheepskin that wraps around the edge.

It gives the cushions a beautiful softness with a subtle glamour. The velvet keeps them elegant, the sheepskin gives them depth, and together they feel like exactly the sort of thing you want to sink into at the end of the day.

Sian made this set in the workshop, complete with wonderfully hidden zips – prize if you can find them!

This is a one-off Drop set for now, but we love them so much we could definitely be persuaded to make more.

Velvet is: 60% Polyester, 28% Recycled Polyester, 8% Acrylic, 4% Viscose with a non-fluoro stain-resistant treatment.

Dimensions

This set includes:

2 x 45cm x 45cm cushions
1 x 55cm x 55cm cushion

Sheepskin border: approximately 8cm wide

Good to know

This cushion set is sold as a trio.

The cushions are identical in design, with two smaller cushions and one larger cushion for layering together on a sofa, chair or bed.

Each cushion is handmade, so small variations in the sheepskin, velvet and finish are part of its charm.

Styling notes

This set is made for layering.

Use all three together on a sofa for a soft, pulled-together look, or place the larger cushion on an armchair and the two smaller ones on a bed or loveseat.

The mushroom shade is calm and easy to live with, sitting beautifully with neutrals, oak, linen, wool, soft whites, warm greys and deeper earthy tones.

The combination of velvet and long wool sheepskin makes them feel cosy enough for everyday lounging but smart enough for a more considered room.

We source the highest quality grade sheepskin predominantly from flocks across the UK.  Where we are unable to source a specific colour within the UK we import sheepskin from New Zealand.  Sheep are not farmed for their skins and sheepskin is a by-product of the food industry.

Some of our stools require very basic assembly. We have a fully dedicated page to guide you on how to assemble your Baa Stool.  Click on the link below to view our full guide.

Why Baa Stool?

Baa Stool Meet The Team

In 2011 I left the corporate world, moved home to rural North Wales and retrained to be an upholsterer.  Two years in, during a tea break from a particularly challenging chair, I was looking at the sheep in the fields surrounding my workshop and mused ‘they look like little footstools. Hmmmmmm…sheepskin covered footstools. Oh yes!’

I spent several months developing the idea and ensuring that every detail of the product is high quality.  The frames and legs are made by skilled craftsmen.  The sheepskin is always premium grade and predominantly from UK flocks.  I source the best upholstery materials and we upholster each Baa Stool using a mix of modern and traditional methods.  This is important because I want my customers to enjoy a product that is the very best it can possibly be.

Around this exciting product a group of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals gathered to form 'Team Baa' and a Great Little British Business was born.

I started selling Baa Stools at local artisan markets and county shows and they quickly developed a following. I noticed that the sheepskin cover upholstered on the footstools made people stop in their tracks, look closer…then, inevitably, smile. This quickly became the overall aim of every new design… to make people smile when they walk into a room.
